IDG brands to remain in New Zealand

Computerworld, Reseller News and PC World will continue to operate in New Zealand once returned to licence owner IDG next month. CIO will also return to IDG.

Technology titles Computerworld, Reseller News and PC World will continue to operate in the New Zealand market once returned to licence owner IDG next month.

Following the announcement earlier this week that Fairfax Magazines had resigned these licences, it has been mutually agreed that CIO will also return to IDG after today’s decision to retain their presence in the local market. “While we were very committed to continue publishing CIO, with today’s decision that IDG will retain its presence in New Zealand, it seems logical they should manage all of their brands in this territory,” says Fairfax Magazines general manager, Lynley Belton. The mastheads will be managed out of Australia by IDG with all existing websites and events continuing uninterrupted with the change. IDG also plans to continue publishing CIO and is committed to the continuing success of CIO events in New Zealand. “We are delighted to retain an ongoing presence in the New Zealand market, provide a seamless Australasian media-buy for advertisers and to continue the relationship with loyal readers,” says IDG Australia managing director, Davy Adams.
