Bruce Tinsley is among several senior IT professionals to have moved companies recently, having resigned as CIO of Opus International to join ANZ Bank as a consultant in its technology division. Richard Croad has stepped up as Opus International director, information management and technology, from his role as director, service excellence/partner. Croad’s role reports directly to the chief executive and managing director, as opposed to the former structure where the CIO reported in to the CFO.
In the finance sector, Roy Goldsmith has left Bank of New Zealand as its chief technology officer, a role he held for two years; and Gerard O’Hara has left Westpac as head of programme delivery. O’Hara's LinkedIn profile states he is on a "career time out".
Dhaya Sivakumar is now the chief information officer of Paymark, replacing Ben Robinson, who is moving to information security company Aura RedEye.
Sivakumar held the same role for over three years at 2degrees, and before that was GM for IT New Zealand and Pacific for Stella Travel Services.
Paymark, formerly known as ETSL, runs the country’s largest electronic transaction system, with an estimated one-third of New Zealand’s GDP being processed through its network.
Matthew Cody is now general manager at AMI Insurance, based in Christchurch. Prior to this he was executive manager, information support/CIO for the insurance company.
Chris Robb is now head of technology at ANZ Bank. He was previously head of IT at Genesis Energy and head of software solutions at IAG.
Jon Spragg, formerly of Gartner, is now NZ account manager for Good Technology.
Luc Hennekens is now CTO at Qantas, having moved from his role as CIO at Contact Energy.
Jason Pratt is now chief technology officer at Tomizone. “I am building a dynamically scaling platform across four global data centres, to support our growing wi-fi network of 20,000-plus hotspots in six countries, says the former SmallWorlds CIO.
Murray Wills is appointed chairman of the Institute of IT Professionals IT Governance Taskforce. The taskforce was set up in response to the need for directors and senior executives to understand their responsibilities in this area, says Wills, who is also managing director of Maxsys.
Ken Boal is new Cisco ANZ head; predecessor Richard Kitts now leads services for Asia Pacific, Japan and Greater China.
