IDC telco analyst follows boss to Chorus

Rosemary Spragg to take up role of strategy analyst in February.

IDC senior market analyst for telecommunications Rosemary Spragg has quit for a role at Chorus. Spragg will work for Rosalie Nelson, whom she previously reported to at IDC. Nelson resigned from IDC last month in order to take up the role of manager for market strategy at Chorus.

“With Rosalie moving on they approached me for the role and I thought it sounded really interesting, it just seemed like the right thing to do, at the right time,” Spragg says.

Spragg will be one of four market strategy analysts reporting to Nelson, who in turn will report to Chorus general manager for sales and marketing Victoria Crone.

Spragg has been a market analyst at IDC for 18 months. Prior to that she was a policy analyst for the Ministry of Economic Development, having been recruited as part of the MED’s graduate programme in 2008.

At the MED Spragg worked in the ICT regulatory team, where she was lead analyst on the Rural Broadband Initiative. She reported to Reg Hammond, who left the MED this year and is now an independent consultant working on projects for InternetNZ.

IDC is currently undergoing a recruiting process to fill the vacant telecommunication analyst positions.
