X-IO appoints Unisys for three-year global contract

Unisys engineers will handle installations and on-site maintenance for X-IO customers in more than 100 countries, including New Zealand.

X-IO, a major provider of intelligent information storage systems has inked a three-year contract with Unisys to provide global IT support services for its customers.

Under the terms of the contract, Unisys engineers will handle installations and on-site maintenance for X-IO customers in more than 100 countries, including New Zealand. In addition to offering break-fix services, Unisys will offer professional services to new and existing customers for all of X IO’s storage systems.

Initially, Unisys will provide services for X-IO customers in the Asia Pacific and Europe/Middle East/Africa regions, with services in North America and Latin America/Caribbean to follow.

“X-IO products are highly reliable and rarely need servicing. In fact after installation, the vast majority of our customers benefit from true zero touch storage in excess of five years,” says Ronald George, vice president, Global Services, X-IO.

George says the contract will provide an “extra insurance policy” for their customers. “Unisys’ global presence and world-class service-delivery capabilities give us confidence that X-IO customers everywhere can get the service they need when they need it.”

Ron Frankenfield, president, Unisys Global Managed Services, says the contract will allow X-IO to concentrate on its rapid growth strategy and enable its enterprise customers to benefit consistently from X-IO’s technology services.
