Improving datacentre efficiency.
What are your interests away from work?
Living in California these days, traveling with my family became top priority for the weekends.
What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
‘We have two ears and one mouth, listen twice as much as you speak.’
Professionally, who do you admire most?
I have a lot respect to the few individuals leading the Open Ethernet Networking Revolution these days, making switch software a commodity element and helping customers getting rid of proprietary switches that come at no added value but much higher cost.
How long have you been working in IT? How did you get into IT?
I studied computer science, but was always more interested in the business aspects, so product management was a great start, and today sales seems to be the right fit for me.
If you weren't working in IT, What would you be doing?
Working with kids.
Can you share a key pointer for managing global teams or teams based in different locations?
It is always about the added value one can bring, without it, it is almost impossible to manage remote teams, not to mention people who are not working directly for you.
A key pointer for keeping abreast of business technology trends?
In the networking datacentre business, keeping up with the trends, dynamics and technology is essential in order to be able to understand customers, build the right products and achieve the business goals.
Relevant websites and being close to customers are [also] great sources for being up to speed.
