Richard Doig, acting CIO, says that ACC’s Information Systems Strategic Plan has identified five priorities for ACC.
  • Enhance business capability: flexible information systems will enable business processes, enhance capability and support an integrated business.
  • Extend access to information systems: partners and stakeholders will have controlled access to ACC’s information services, supporting the secure and effective sharing of information and business processes
  • Enable improved decision-making: ensure accurate and timely information is available, accessible and trusted.• Deliver value from information system investments: leverage IS and strategic partnerships, reducing costs and delivering value for money
  • Maintain stable and secure information systems: ensure systems are stable, secure and trusted, minimising interruptions to the delivery of business services.

Doig and his team will focus on several key IT projects this year, including implementation of both an integrated insurance system and a contract management system; several important e-business initiatives, both B2C and B2B; upgrades to ACC’s claims management and financial systems; a data warehouse refresh, with associated deployment of new business intelligence tools; ongoing desktop, application, server and storage virtualisation; infrastructure consolidation; network and voice upgrades; a CMDB deployment; and various lifecycle replacement projects.
