Kiwi firms score at Consensus Software awards

By CIO New Zealand staff | Monday, July 05 2010

Core Technology and Catch Limited impress ANZ judges.

Two New Zealand companies walked away with awards at the 11th annual Consensus Software Awards in Sydney.

Wellington IBM business partner Core Technology won for its cloud computing software development environment, Aviarc. Catch Limited won for its Enterprise Tester, a fully integrated, web-based test management solution.

The awards identify the most innovative software in Australia and New Zealand.

The Ministry of Economic Development also received a highly commended prize for its Envirostep software which is designed to make environmental management easier for small and medium size enterprises.

Core Technology CEO Shane Mercer says the software has been proven in a wide range of public sector, corporations and business verticals in ANZ. It is preparing to launch on the global market and has signed up a large company in the US.

The company spent six years developing its Aviarc development suite assisted by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and The Foundation for Research, Science and Technology. It was recently appointed to the Government’s advisory board for cloud computing.
