Foodstuffs Auckland appoints Peter Muggleston as CIO

Former Sovereign Assurance CIO moves from finance to retail.

Peter Muggleston is the new CIO at Foodstuffs Auckland.

He comes to Foodstuffs Auckland from Sovereign Assurance, where as CIO he played a leading role in developing a five year target architecture roadmap, initiated four key foundation projects, and finalised a standalone operating model with ASB.



Having previously held roles at ASB Bank, Shell and Fletcher Energy, Muggleston has extensive experience managing IT functions in both New Zealand and overseas, including technology management and delivery, strategic planning, infrastructure planning and process improvement.

Foodstuffs Auckland was ranked number 16 in the MIS100 2011, the list of the largest IT using organisations in New Zealand, with nearly 6000 screens.

One of its major projects last year was “Programme Lightning”, that aims to transform the company’s processes at both the support and store levels.
