By CIO New Zealand staff | Thursday, August 20 2009

One finalist could win $100,000.

Five IT companies have made the cut of the New Zealand Trade and Enterprise International Business Awards.
They include IT distributor Phitek Systems, Author-it Software, Mobile Mentor, Futrix and Enatel. More than 90 entries were received for the awards.

The companies are now in the running to receive the judges’ supreme award for international business. The winner will be awarded $100,000 to fund further international growth.

NZ Trade and Enterprise CEO Tim Gibson said the awards celebrate business operating successfully in international markets.

“I am impressed by the number of entrants who have demonstrated not only strong business basics, but the ability to adapt and find creative ways to make themselves stand out and succeed internationally.”

Phitek Systems is in the finals of two categories, best business operating internationally (revenue of $10 to 50 million) and best use of research and development in international business.

Author-it Software made the finals of the best business operating internationally (revenue under $10 million) and best commercialisation of intellectual property in international business.

Futrix and Enatel also made the best business operating internationally finals while Mobile Mentor is in the best use of design in international business category.
