Optimation specialises in the design, development, integration and management of software systems that reduce cost, risk and complexity for businesses. Optimation has pioneered Indian IT offshore partnering in New Zealand. Last August, the company announced HCL as its new Indian IT offshore partner.

Key projects over the past year include development and ministerial launch of the Business Capability tool for Capability NZ to collect and make available business benchmarking data to enhance the competitiveness of local businesses; the Parliamentary launch of the Envirostep portal for business to assess their environmental performance; A 2G and 3G network Coverage application for Vodafone’s website, and a five-year agreement with the mobile provider for a managed testing service. It also developed the Resene Paints E-Tint application, for colour tinting in all retail stores, and completed a re-write of the Department of Corrections Integrated Offender Management System.
