Tied to industries across the board, it seems that consultancy and outsourcing provider Capgemini escaped the wrath of a flailing global economy, packing on the pounds and adding staff at both its Indian and Australian offices. The company added 500 staff on the ground across Australia, supported by an additional 300 outsourcing and technology staff in India.

In Australia, Capgemini signed former Satyam Computer Services chief executive Deepak Nangia to the newly created role of managing director for new business.

The company won some major contracts, including with Société Générale. It also extended its partnership with Unilever, signed a partnership deal with Amazon Web Services to offer cloud solutions to its clients and formed a link with Oracle to market a new tax management software product in the US. In 2010, Capgemini aims to continue its global expansion and boost its application testing capabilities. Rachael Bolton
