Adobe Systems spent the past year improving and upgrading its flagship graphics software offerings, having launched Creative Suite 4 and Acrobat 9 in 2008, followed by Flash Player 10.

The more recent evolution of the famed graphics suite was the introduction of Adobe’s Photoshop as an iPhone application. The company has certainly been refocusing on mobile in 2009, with the latest incarnation of its animation offering, Flash Professional, due for launch in beta before the end of the year.

Adobe has promised that Flash Professional will include tools for the creation of native iPhone applications, and says it developed the software without assistance from Apple.

Flash content now reaches more than 98 percent of internet-enabled desktops, according to Adobe. This new development in Flash Professional is designed to further extend the software’s reach into the mobile space. In addition to major contracts won in the education sector over the past 12 months, Adobe had a big win in signing with Time Warner to provide the platform for its online video content.
