Datacom is a New Zealand-owned IT services provider with activities in Australia and parts of Asia as well.
This year Datacom rolled out a new outsourced payroll engine, with Flight Centre being the first client to move onto it.

The company has also commissioned the new $30 million Orbit datacentre with three independent generators in Albany, north of Auckland, and also committed $15 million for operations and maintenance of the centre next year.

The investment will create a capacity for 644 high-density racks with the flexibility to accommodate any type of equipment.

Datacentres will be one area of business that Datacom intends to focus on in the coming years, as the government’s broadband initiative further drives the need for such facilities. Related to these plans, Datacom plans to expand its cloud computing offerings in New Zealand.
