CIO magazine and NetApp are pleased to announce the finalists in the CIO of the Year Awards for 2010.
Finalists Announced
CIO of the Year finalists are:

The CIO of the Year Award was open to all individuals in an IT Management position.
The winner of this Award will be announced during the CIO Summit event on 20 July 2010 at the Sky City Auckland Convention Centre, Auckland.
The winner in 2009 was Julia Raue, CIO of Air New Zealand.

Judges
Wendy Bussen, Global Procurement, Fonterra
Wendy has been a judge for the Computerworld Excellence Awards for over ten years. Her experience in the IT industry covers IT governance, IT strategy, policy development, project management and systems development. She was the Director of IT Services at AUT University for nine years, heading a team of 85 staff. After AUT, Wendy joined the Auckland Regional Council as General Manager Corporate Services. At the ARC, Wendy led a culture change programme, enhanced the functionality of the ERP system and relocated and implemented new technology into the ARC call centre. Wendy recently joined Fonterra in the Global Procurement Division and is reviewing the vendor landscape for the provision of IT services across 140 sites around the world.
Garry Collings, Director, @Large
Garry is an experienced CIO and a previous winner of the CIO of the Year Award in the Computerworld Excellence Awards. He has more than 18 years' experience in IT management, infrastructure evaluations and upgrades, process re-engineering, software development, organisational change and mobile solutions. Garry is a former CIO of Toll NZ, TranzRail and Mainfreight.
Ross Hughson, Principal Advisor, ICT at State Services Commission
Ross Hughson is currently Principal Advisor, ICT at the State Services Commission where he is working on Whole of Government IT strategy and policy. Prior to that Ross was the CIO for Inland Revenue from 2005. Ross was previously the CIO of the Westpac Bank in New Zealand, and has also held senior roles in AXA NZ, the ANZ Bank and IBM New Zealand.
Ross has over 25 years' experience in the IT industry and is passionate about the application of technology to deliver business value at an organisational and national level.
In 2001, Ross was awarded the CIO of the year in the NZ Computerworld Excellence Awards.
Ross holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration (BCA) from Victoria University of Wellington. He is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors. Ross is married to Vicky and has 3 school aged children.
