Voice and data company TelstraClear claims to have the best IP network in New Zealand and offer the market’s best trans-Tasman services. TelstraClear retained the fastest web page download in the country by a minimum of 23 seconds during a TrueNet’s speed test in September, well ahead of competitors.
Over the last 12 months, TelstraClear has invested $10 million in enabling its PSTN. TelstraClear has been working with its partner Vodafone to create integrated mobile and fixed data solutions, and has upgraded its core network from 50Gbps to 130Gbps potential carrying capacity.
“Our focus is on growth and transformation investments. It is imperative that we improve our speed to market with simple service bundles that combine communications and entertainment to our consumer customers and high value add connection and solutions to our B&G customers,” says head of operations Brenda Stonestreet. “An element of business growth will be achieved through innovative reuse of existing company IT infrastructure and skills and the introduction of new IT capabilities.”
Key IT projects for 2012 include consumer and business Ultra Fast Broadband product development, knowledgebase development, back-office automation, collaboration, including documents, projects and VoIP integration, and the completion of media projects for consumer markets. “The evolution of our IT capabilities and roadmaps are also crucial for improving our customer satisfaction and the way that customers engage with the company. An integral component of this delivery will be to simplify and streamline backend processes to improve productivity,” clarifies Stonestreet.
