Shane Hamill has been the acting CIO for Housing New Zealand Corporation since former CIO Paul Jepson left the organisation in March to take on the CIO role at ACC.
Hamill says the ICT Group’s priority this year is to support the implementation of HNZC’s Enterprise transformation programme (ETP), noting the effective and collaborative way the ICT Group and the ETP team are working together. The programme enables HNZC to deliver its core business with greater efficiency and effectiveness. It will replace customer relationship, financial, procurement and asset management systems, with the aim of introducing more consistency, automation and integration of information and work processes, and supporting increased workforce mobility. The ETP, coupled with HNZC’s wider organisational change programme, represent the most significant transformation of the corporation’s service delivery model and core ICT applications since its establishment.
Other key ICT projects for Housing New Zealand in 2012 will include systems integration between ETP and HR systems, continuation of its core platform and telecommunications refresh, roll out of smart phones to tenancy managers, pilot of work mobility, further development of the electronic data and records management system, call centre expansion, and digitisation projects.
The ICT Group has recently reorganised to reflect the new capabilities it needs to support the business in future. The Group has added to its existing partners, Red Rock, Dimension Data and Fujitsu to support applications, infrastructure and desktops, as part of ICT’s transformation to a new operating model, says Hamill.
