Datacom Group operates on the belief that cleverly applied information technology can make a demonstrable difference to its clients’ businesses in a world of high expectations and limited resources. The role of the IT services provider is to assist organisations to deploy IT to meet this opportunity. Datacom builds and runs applications and platforms to support both existing processes and new ways of doing business.
The group employs more than 3300 staff across 13 locations in New Zealand, Australia, the Philippines and Malaysia, with more than 1900 of those employees located within New Zealand.
“IT is used to help achieve business objectives by enabling and increasing productivity, cost effective delivery to clients and improved sales,” says Greg Davidson, CEO of Datacom New Zealand.
The company is in a period of growth, with ICT budgets, projects and staff numbers all predicted to rise over 2012 by some 5 to 10 percent.
Datacom topped the Technology Investment Network (TIN) 100 list of 10 companies to watch, based on growth in revenue, at the end of October 2011.
Internally, top projects will include document management and intranet initiatives across New Zealand and Australia, and further cloud provisioning in New Zealand. Datacom was one of the first companies in New Zealand to go live with VMware’s vCloud service in November last year, and has plans to build a new datacentre in Hamilton.
