Leo Morta appointed trans-Tasman CIO of NZICA, ICAA

Will work on delivering online development tools to Australasian accountants.

Leo Morta has been appointed the first ever trans-Tasman CIO of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA). Morta was previously the CIO at the Institute of Environmental Science and Research (ESR), where he worked for the past four years.

The new trans-Tasman position is a part of a colloboration agreement between NZICA and ICAA, which began in 2010.

According to the NZICA, the collaboration aims to provide better value for members in both countries by delivering joint programs and development services.

One of the initiatives Morta will help deliver is a hybrid learning tool, which combines face-to-face development with online resources, which is expected to be available in both countries from 2013.

We will add more when Morta is available for comment.
