NZICT has appointed Candace Kinser, former CEO of biotech software firm Biomatters, as its new CEO.
Kinser aims to forge stronger connections with NZICT's members and continue to work closely with government on a range of initiatives including ultra-fast broadband and the government's use of ICT.
She says she's also passionate about the growth of startups and mid-size companies in our tech sector.
“Encouraging our most promising SME technology companies and helping them set-up and operate offshore is critical to New Zealand’s economic future. NZICT can, and should be, the backbone that supports these companies as they go global,” she says.
Kinser takes up the new role from mid October, but she has already starting working with the NZICT board. Before becoming CEO at Biomatters, she held senior roles at Telecom, Solnet and Biolab Scientific. She was also director of the New Zealand Health IT Cluster for nearly three years and is a current director of biotech sector membership group NZBIO.
