Key IS projects this year: Not disclosed.
Transfield Services is a global provider of operations, maintenance and asset and project management services, delivering essential services to key industries in the resources and industrial, property and infrastructure sectors.
In last year’s MIS100 report, GM Information Services Alan Clist stated that a major focus for ICT was the standardisation of processes and prioritisation of processes to meet new contract requirements.
Clist was unavailable for comment this year. However, in September 2010, the company announced A$240 million in contracts with existing customers in New Zealand and Australia. Part of this sum comes from a new five-year NZ$64 million contract to maintain 4000 telecommunication sites nationwide for Chorus in New Zealand, which followed a prior 10-year relationship performing other field maintenance work for the Telecom subsidiary. As well, it has secured a new NZ$30 million, two-year contract with Housing New Zealand Corporation to maintain 7500 public premises in South Auckland. Transfield has also signed a new five-year contract with the New Zealand Police, a new client, to maintain 400 police properties across the North Island of New Zealand.
SAP is mission critical to the organisation and ensuring its SAP infrastructure is always available is vital to Transfield Services. For this reason, SAP, HP and Microsoft are collaboratively used on a geographically-dispersed cluster created using HP server technology and the Microsoft Application Platform. Transfield Services has consolidated all of its business processes into SAP applications over the years, and today the SAP application suite runs all of the company’s core business operations.
