TelstraClear’s ICT goals over the next three years involve dealing with the changes brought by the Government’s ultra fast broadband initiative (UFB).

TelstraClear is implementing the full IP enablement of its national PSTN to support VoIP availability to all market segments, and expanding its IP core network for HD video content delivery in preparation for UFB.

The telco provider is currently focused on the immediate run out of IP addresses and the need to convert its networks and support systems to IPv6 by the end of 2012.

Heavy investment in network and security management portals for its customers and its internal networks and applications is top of mind for TelstraClear this year.

It has completed its virtual server and virtual desktop rollout and runs half of its total desktops on virtual components, which were recently deployed as a mass rollout to contact centres to compensate for disruption to its Christchurch based staff due to the earthquake’s.

TelstraClear has an 18-month programme running to improve its sales and provisioning and support throughput processes as support demand increases, as customers move all services off traditional voice and data services to fixed broadband and mobile data solutions.
