Digital agency Heyday has won three categories at the 2011 edition of the ONYAs web industry awards. The victories include the supreme ONYA for Most Outstanding Website, for Down to the Wire. The agency, formerly Doubleclique, entered the ONYAs for the first time this year, as it celebrated its 10th anniversary by relaunching itself as Heyday.
Down to the Wire was created by Heyday to celebrate 21 years of New Zealand’s internet and won the Best Content (Corporate) category, as well as the Most Outstanding Website award. The agency’s own website won the ONYA for Best Use of HTML/CSS.
: “We’re thrilled that the judges recognised Heyday with these awards. In relaunching as Heyday we were determined to challenge ourselves and show what can be achieved in digital. Down to the Wire was an ambitious project that tested us across a huge range of disciplines while Heyday’s own website needed to be a technological tour de force to demonstrate our skills. Both of these major projects – handled entirely in-house – were at the heart of our relaunch and needed to be delivered at the same time,” said Heyday founder Luke Pierson.
“It required a monumental effort from our team. To win any of the three ONYAs categories would have been a fantastic reward for us, but to win all three – including the supreme award for Down to the Wire – quite frankly knocked us out. It was simply an amazing night,” he added.
The ONYAs ceremony was the culmination of New Zealand’s Webstock conference and took place last Saturday at the Wellington Town Hall. To comment on this article, please email the editor.
