Former TrustPower CIO Nelson Tkatch takes on the managing director role next week at Xenacom, joining the ranks of CIOs who have moved in to senior executive roles. Tkatch has been a director of the company for the past two years. Xenacom is a privately held New Zealand company providing mobile application development services.
Tkatch has held senior-level positions in, and consulted to, a variety of industries and brings 30 years of IT experience working in Canada, the US States and New Zealand.
He was a former principal with KPMG Management Consulting and has set up consulting firm eSuccess Strategies. He had also worked as CIO for Community Savings, then one of Canada’s largest credit unions, and now part of Servus.
Tkatch says his experience across sectors will be a big factor when working with customers. “We see the potential to very quickly work with CIOs to identify where the rapid delivery of value is going to be most meaningful for them," he says.
Xenacom was formed in 1997 and was an early integrator of mobilisation technology into business applications. The company is now a global distributor for the MobileFrame software development tool and is the current reseller and integrator for the Australia-New Zealand region. “Xenacom's unparalleled experience using the MobileFrame platform has effectively defined the standard for realising value from rapid mobilisation of applications. This mobilisation is a growing need for businesses and is one that directly impacts a company’s bottom-line," says Tkatch. He says business benefits include staff productivity and replacement of manual paper-based processes with wireless electronic systems.
