Fortified by a portfolio of enterprise solutions, including servers, storage and networking, Dell’s operational cash flow was a solid US$3.6 billion for the trailing 12 months, 47 percent up on the previous year. CEO Michael Dell says the firm continues to aggressively strengthen its portfolio of datacentre solutions with the addition of key IP, talent and technology. Early this year it acquired storage vendors Ocarina Networks and Exanet, and more recently Boomi. The latter is a software-as-a-service integration company that will expand Dell’s cloud computing offerings. Boomi’s on-demand integration platform Atomsphere allows for easy transfer of data between applications run onsite and hosted services, such as Salesforce.com’s CRM software.
