Teradata plans to continue increasing its market coverage, for example by adding to its number of sales territories. The company is focused on extending its core technology and expanding its family of compatible data warehouse platforms, its annual report states. Another area of focus is investing in partners, such as SAP, to increase the number of solutions available on Teradata platforms.

Revenue in the Asia-Pacific region decreased by 9 percent in 2009, compared with 2008, driven by a 22 percent decrease in product revenue, mainly caused by the recession. But the company believes demand for its solutions will keep rising, due to the continued increase in data volumes and the complexity of business requirements. Ulrika Hedquist
