Unisys has continued to focus on four key areas in 2010: security, datacentre transformation, end-user services and support, and application modernisation. Revenue in 2009 declined 12 percent compared with the previous year, but still signalled recovery after the global financial downturn.
In 2009, Unisys took action to reduce annual cost by more than $225 million. This meant headcount reductions of about 1300 positions worldwide and extensive facility consolidations.
“We did this work in a difficult economic environment and we saw the fruits of our efforts in our results over the past three quarters,” says CEO Edward Coleman. In Q2 2010, driven by strong performance in its technology business, Unisys reported its fifth consecutive quarter of higher year-over-year profits. Ulrika Hedquist
