If TCS felt the downturn last year, its outlook is a lot more positive now. For the quarter ended March 31, it reported revenue of $1.7 billion, up nearly 18 percent on the same quarter last year. In September it secured a five-year contract worth $50 million to provide infrastructure management for AGL Energy. The contract builds on a relationship between the companies that began in 2007, when TCS signed a $16 million outsourcing deal with AGL. Australasian general manager, Varun Kapur, has said it is difficult to find enough local talent to fulfil TCS’s growing regional interests.
The company is also continuing to invest in its global network delivery model, which gives customers access to processes and skills from wherever in the world is most suitable. Ulrika Hedquist
