Salesforce.com says for the past 10 years, the proposition of cloud computing has been low cost, fast to deploy and easy to use, but over the next 10 years, this proposition will change. The focus will be on making applications and people more collaborative, supporting new mobile devices and getting relevant updates in real time.

Earlier this year, it launched Chatter, a cloud 2 social app that employees can use for collaboration across the company, leveraging the social features — such as profiles, status updates and real-time feeds — made popular by Facebook, Google and Twitter. It also further boosted its Force.com cloud computing platform, which lets companies build their own applications in the cloud, by collaborating with VMware. Ulrika Hedquist
