Newly-appointed Compuware country manager Janne Halonen is preparing to launch an aggressive three-year growth plan for the vendor locally. Halonen aims to replicate the growth that was implemented during his three and a half year tenure as Compuware’s Finland country manager, which ended in March. During that time, staff numbers for the Finnish business increased from 15 to 27.
The company has two staff in Wellington, including Halonen, with Australian-based sales staff flying over regularly to support the business. It also has a serviced office in Auckland to host the Australian employees.
Halonen plans to appoint up to seven sales staff and a technical team ranging from five to 10 people. The new recruits would be based in Auckland and Wellington and there is the possibility of opening a serviced office in Christchurch.
Compuware recently hired technical engineer Graeme Wilkinson, to be based at its Wellington office.
“Graeme will be building the ability for us to work with our international teams. He spends time at our customers’ [sites] understanding the technical aspects and how we can help,” says Halonen.
Compuware does not break out revenue figures by country, but Halonen wants to grow the business at least 10 percent year on year.
“The first step [to growth] is to work closely with our customers and understand what they are trying to achieve in their businesses, particularly through their websites and internet applications,” he says. “I am looking forward to growing the size of the company to meet our customers’ needs.”
