House of Travel (HoT) is 100 percent New Zealand owned and operated, and is fiercely proud of its Kiwi heritage. Operating more than 75 outlets around the country, employing more than 1100 staff and operating one of New Zealand’s most successful travel websites, the organisation says it has earned the number-one position in travel advice for New Zealanders.

As part of its plans for future growth, House of Travel is in the process of developing and implementing new IT systems throughout the group. Last year was busy for the ICT services department, with several key projects across multiple technologies initiated. These are now being progressively rolled out to the business, and include the technology behind and the new farefinder tools.

“These new systems are going to enable House of Travel to create a point of difference in the market, deliver significant automation to our business processes and deliver a new IT platform that we can continue to build on in the future,” says CIO Dave Veronese. “The year ahead for HoT brings a focus on delivering our new solutions into production and retiring our legacy applications.”
