Trend Micro has expanded its offerings through a range of form factors including software, virtual appliances and software as a service security offerings, as well as broader abilities to safeguard against data-stealing malware and inadvertent data leaks. Like many other vendors, it is heading into cloud computing with its Smart Protection Network. The technique is expected to result in a software product that’s about 70 percent less hefty in terms of code.

Even with the economic downturn, Chang is positive about the health of Trend’s business, commenting that the vendor is winning customers across different verticals.

“As within our forecast, for the enterprise segment, there was a slowdown from the finance industry,” he says. “However, we experienced good growth from the public sector in multiple countries.”
