While CSC’s three primary lines of business - which comprise Business Solutions and Services, Global Outsourcing Services and the North American Public Sector - have helped it mitigate risks during the downturn, the company has taken the next step in its expansion through cloud computing services.

CSC announced a group of cloud services with managed ecosystems of cloud service providers, including platform-as-a-service, infrastructure-as-a-service and software-as-a-service.

The company is also to build cloud computing delivery capability through its global outsourcing business.

Highlights include a US$162 million contract from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to provide aviation services through the Johnson Space Centre Aircraft Maintenance and Modification Program.

Nick Wilkinson says the global crisis has made it very difficult to accurately predict the performance of the business this year. Avanti Kumar
