Peter Ennis joined TVNZ as broadcast technology manager.

Peter Ennis is the new GM Technology at TVNZ, replacing Damian Swaffield who left in August and returned to business consultancy work. Ennis joined TVNZ in January 2009 as broadcast technology manager. Before that, he was director of operations and technology at TV3.

TVNZ's key ICT projects this year include the Nexus – Analogue to Digital transformation; Tipu Ake – Internet web site service upgrade; and Accelerator - Sales system implementation.

In an earlier interview with CIO, Swaffield says ICT at TVNZ continues to implement business supporting projects such as digital transformation of the content value chain with workflow-driven, digital asset management systems to replace manual tape-based business processes, as well as a transformation of the advertising sales business through replacement systems and technology, and continued investment in the online (website) products.

Also planned are investments in networking technologies to support the move to a digital workflow, along with storage, virtualisation and wireless technologies.
