Fonterra, New Zealand’s largest corporation, has extended its working relationship with Gen-i by including the supply of mobile systems using Telecom’s new XT network. The three-year contract extends the existing agreement between Gen-i and Fonterra for the supply of network infrastructure, network managed services, voice calling and access services. The contract also includes mobile services and the provision of XT mobile handsets and datacards, according to a Gen-i press statement.
The press statement quotes Chris Barendregt, Fonterra CIO, as saying the decision to move the majority of its services to Telecom was made to reduce costs and increase service and coverage options.
