Orcon acquires ISPs iGRIN and Infogen

Comes under Orcon ownership on September 1.

Internet service provider (ISP) Orcon has acquired ISPs iGRIN and Genesis Energy's Infogen. Whagarei-based iGRIN has been using Orcon's network for the past eight years and offers broadband, dial-up, web hosting and domain services.

Infogen has also been offering the Orcon service for more than six years as part of Genesis Energy's retail plan. The two companies have nearly 9000 customers.

Orcon CEO Scott Bartlett says it will be business as usual for both ISPs.

'While initially the only change for consumers will be the Orcon name on the invoice, we are also confident that longer term our focus on providing first class internet will bring new benefits for customers of both," he claims.

The ISPs become part of Orcon on Tuesday, September 1.
