Five new categories have been introduced to the 2009 IBM Business Partner Awards held in association with New Zealand Reseller News, which opens for entries today. The new categories are Smart Work, New Intelligence, Dynamic Infrastructure, Green and Beyond, and People’s Choice Distributor Award.
Smart Work is about using agile and efficient business process to transform organisations so people (customers, employees, suppliers and partners) are more connected.
New Intelligence recognises that organisations must take advantage of the wealth of information available to them, to make more intelligent choices.
Dynamic Infrastructure is about creating an infrastructure that drives down cost, is intelligent and secure, and is just as dynamic as today’s business climate.
Green & Beyond recognises that the IT industry must drive greater efficiencies, compete more effectively, and respond more quickly by taking action now on energy, the environment and sustainability.
“These new categories exemplify our desire to collaborate with business partners and resellers to help clients bring together the right insights, the right technology, the right research and the right systems to make their organisations smarter,” says NZ channels manager Raymond Skoglund.
“As our businesses, infrastructures and systems become smarter, we have a chance to open up meaningful new possibilities for New Zealand’s growth and prosperity.”
Skoglund says IBM’s vision is to build a smarter planet, but it’s a task that relies on local business partners and resellers with industry skills and expertise to help take the smarter planet vision forward.
“Those who do it well deserve the recognition and acknowledgment.”
The People’s Choice Distributor Award, open to individuals working in distribution organisations, was created by IBM to recognise the importance that its distributors play in the local marketplace.
The Awards cover a range of categories to encourage excellence across the IT industry.
According to IBM, the awards are highly esteemed, both within the industry and beyond, generating high levels of publicity and exposure for finalists and winning businesses and individuals. Winners receive a promotional package worth approximately NZ$5000. Judges will recognise and reward excellence in the following areas: Smart Work (NEW) New Intelligence (NEW) Dynamic Infrastructure (NEW) Green and Beyond (NEW) People’s Choice Distributor Award (NEW) People's Choice Reseller Award Rookie of the Year Best Co-Marketing Best Non-IBM Business Partner Solution
