Telecom’s 3G mobile network launch date has moved forward from June to Wednesday, May 13. Telecom CEO Paul Reynolds says the development of the XT mobile network has progressed extremely well and the service would be operational across the country from launch day.
He claims that the network will be faster in most places.
To support the launch of its mobile service, Telecom is also rolling out a new design and fit-out for its retail stores. Six stores will be open by launch day, with 12 further stores to be refitted over the coming months.
The company is investing more than $574 million in the new network over two years.
According to Telecom, customers wanting to move to the new network won’t have to change their number.
