New CIO at Ministry of Education

MAF staffer takes top information role

The Ministry of Education has appointed Leanne Gibson as its chief information officer. Gibson's experience includes 18 years of operational management in both the public and private sectors.

She is currently director of passenger clearance at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Previously, she held roles as CIO and general manager of the Quarantine Service.

Before joining MAF, Gibson worked at the Ministry of Social Development as IT customer services manager and IT operations manager. She has also had commercial IT experience with Comtex, IBM and Unisys.
