New Microsoft country manager appointed

Ackurst to replace Robinson

Microsoft has appointed Kevin Ackhurst, currently the company's woldwide general manager for operations and business strategy for the public sector, as New Zealand country manager. He will replace Helen Robinson, who resigned last month.

Ackhurst joined Microsoft in 1997 at its South African subsidiary. From 2003 to 2006 he was director of Microsoft services in Australia, before taking up his current role. Before joining Mircrosoft, he was systems and technology manager for COSI Distribution, a Hewlett-Packard distributor in South Africa.

His appointment is effective from October 22.
