The Warehouse launches app for ‘seamless’ shopping experience

Goal is to become New Zealand’s leading multi-channel retailer, says Group CEO Mark Powell

The Warehouse has launched a free app ‘Your Warehouse’ designed to make online shopping “seamless” and “personalised”.

Available on Android and iOS, the app introduces the very first nation-wide barcode scanner, integrated with a major national retailer in a consumer mobile application.

If consumers find a product in a retail store, they can use the barcode scanner to cross check the price of the same product at The Warehouse.

The app also features a ‘wishlist’ so users can save their favourite products and receive push notification alerts when these items go on sale.

Warehouse CEO Mark Powell says the app is a first in the local retail space, and is part of the group’s strategy to become the country’s leading multi-channel retailer.

The retail chain worked with Sush Mobile to integrate the smart phone technology with the existing online infrastructure.

“Deployment on this scale, with such a large existing infrastructure makes ‘Your Warehouse’ a breakthrough technology and the first of its kind in New Zealand, with functionality that will take the consumer mobile experience to the next level,” says Sheenu Chawla, Sush mobile managing director.
