Bachelor of Technology from Delhi, post-graduate in business from Massey University and master of commerce from the University of Auckland.
Where do you live?
Henderson, Waitakere, Auckland.
What are your interests away from work?
Cuisines and travel.
What are you reading at the moment?
Difference by Bernadette Jiwa and Big Databy Viktor Mayer-Schönberger and Kenneth Cukier.
What is your favourite movie? Why?
Guru, an Indian movie, based on the life of Dhirubhai Ambani, a businessman who founded one of the largest Indian companies Reliance. Gravity is the recent favourite one because of its spectacular use of technology and great acting.
What is the most memorable place you've been to?
There are few to name, but Zurich I guess is the most memorable one.
What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
Ask questions until there are none.
Professionally, who do you admire most?
Professionally, I admire the team of two - Larry Page and Sergey Brin – the co-founders of Google.Related:The new CIO fitout: Wearable tech
How long have you been working in IT?
Six to seven years.
If you weren't working in IT, What would you be doing?
I would probably be a chef. I find cooking immensely calming.
What was your first job?
My first job in India was teaching mathematics to high school students part-time, here in NZ I started at BP. I used to fill LPG bottles and handle tills until I got my first software job as .Net developer at Auckland Regional Council.
What's the best thing about working with IT executives?
Passion for technology, hunger for new, greed for making systems better and processes efficient.
What is the worst?
When IT becomes over cautious and pessimistic. There may be turbulence, but that should not stop projects to take off. Of course, planning and analysis are important, but smart teams can and will handle difficulties whilst journey to reach the desired outcomes.
What is your favourite networking situation?
Technology conferences and Linkedin.
What will you do when you retire?
I haven't thought that far, but can't think if I might be able to.
