Eagle Technology has appointed Mark Allan as its new CEO, following the retirement of former leader, Gary Langford, in January.
In joining the systems integrator from Downer New Zealand, where he was the Executive General Manager of the Technology Solutions Division for seven years, Allan will report to the board of Eagle Technology, having previously spent four months as advisor.
“Mark’s appointment reflects the direction that Eagle Technology is taking as a full-service GIS, communications and managed services provider, a unique position in the New Zealand market,” Eagle Technology Group Executive Director, Duane Eagle, said.
During his time at Downer, Allan was responsible for telecommunications, GIS, power and gas, alongside intelligent transport solutions, including the implementation of the Esri ArcGIS platform, with Eagle distributing the product across New Zealand.
For Allan, the new role provides the opportunity to communicate the value of GIS and related technologies to a wider audience across the country.
“Smart GIS now has the proven ability to connect people, processes, assets and equipment to deliver improved efficiency, collaboration, visibility and communication,” he said.
“Real-time situational awareness, seamless communication and control are becoming key drivers for the increasing demand from customers to deliver better value, more agility and continuous improvement.”
Prior to joining Downer, Allan held various executive management and CEO positions, both in New Zealand and overseas, during a career spanning over 35 years.
Established in 1969, Eagle Technology is a privately held New Zealand-owned systems integration and information management company, with approximately 90 employees across Auckland and Wellington offices.
