HP has unveiled new services designed to assist clients with the management and implementation of storage systems.
The services address needs such as data replication, data cleansing and disaster recovery, and, depending on the case, can include consulting, hosting, design, installation, testing, documentation and training, vice president of HP Network Storage services at HP Services, Gary Wright, said.
These are the new services as defined by Wright:
- HP Data Replication Solution Service: For a price ranging between $US10,000 and $US60,000, HP implements a data replication system and integrates it with existing storage products. It will be available worldwide by the end of the third quarter.
- HP Disaster Tolerant Management Service: Available now, this custom-priced service aims to strengthen a company's disaster-recovery plans, covering all the links, such as facilities, networks and applications, involved in maintaining or restoring IT functions in the event of a catastrophe.
-- HP Storage Optimisation Assessment Service: In this one-time consulting engagement that starts at $US20,000 for up to 10 servers, HP analyses the capacity and performance of a company's storage systems and makes recommendations for improvements. The service will be available worldwide by the end of the third quarter, he said.
-- HP Data Sanitisation Service: Available Monday for about $US7,000 per terabyte, this service is for companies that want to make sure that sensitive data has been totally erased and eliminated from storage devices that are either headed for the dumpster or about to be used for a different task.
-- HP Storage Area Management Solution Service: Through analysis and design, this consulting service focuses on helping clients get a better handle and control on their storage infrastructure to improve their scalability and performance. It ranges from $US10,000 to $US100,000 and will be available worldwide in the third quarter, he said.
