Compuware creates NZ country manager role

Former Finland Compuware country manager Janne Halonen has taken up the same position in New Zealand.
This is the first time the company has appointed a local country manager.
Based in Wellington, Halonen plans to work with partner companies to grow the software company's local business.
He says from a market perspective there are a number of similarities between New Zealand and Finland.
“They are quite similar in geographical size, the major IT market segments government, banking and finance, and telecommunications are also very similar, and both countries require vendors to work closely with business partners to deliver solutions.”
“The first step is to work closely with our customers and understand what they are trying to achieve in their businesses, particularly through their websites and internet applications.”
He reports to Compuware ANZ and Japan vice president Steve Jobson.
Prior to joining the company in 2006, Halonen worked at WebSphere and IBM Finland.
