Movers and shakers: Michael Bullock and Craig Sims of ANZ Bank and Jennifer Rutherford of NZTech

Michael Bullock has been appointed chief operating officer of ANZ Bank New Zealand, moving from his current role as general manager, institutional and commercial operations.
Current COO Craig Sims will be based in Melbourne as chief operating officer for ANZ's Enterprise Services, which supports the finance, risk and human resources operations globally.
Sims played a large role in ANZ Bank New Zealand’s Simplification Programme which brought together ANZ and The National Banks in 2012, and then the creation of Global Technology, Services and Operations New Zealand.
Bullock has more than 23 years’ experience in the finance and banking sector in senior operational positions. Prior to ANZ, he was with Citigroup for 14 years where he held a number of roles in the Global Corporate and Investment Bank across various geographies and business sectors.
“We’re pleased to have someone with Mike’s broad banking experience and strong track record in this key role,” says ANZ New Zealand CEO David Hisco.
Jennifer Rutherford joins NZTech in the newly created role of director of member and government relations, reporting to CEO Graeme Muller. She will start with NZTech in mid-March.
Muller says Rutherford will focus on two key areas. “Firstly, to stay close to our member organisations to make sure we continue to deliver high levels of value. And secondly, to be more proactive with the government - the country's largest tech user and influencer.”
Rutherford has served in a number of senior roles in large techology companies. She joins NZTech from Cisco where she was regional sales manager. Prior to that she has worked at HP, Toshiba, Computerland and IBM.
Accenture completes its acquisition of Reactive Media, one of Australia’s largest independent digital agencies.

ATMs become GAYTMs
ANZ has transformed four of its most prominent ATMs into ‘GAYTMS’ in support of diversity and inclusion.
The art installations also celebrate the bank’s partnership with Auckland’s Pride Festival and Wellington’s Out in the Park, and mark ANZ’s accreditation into the Rainbow Tick program.

ANZ has five staff affinity groups – Māori and Pasifika, Asian, Indian, Pride and Flexible Working Parents.
The GAYTMs are on 312 Ponsonby Road, 122 Karangahape Road, 45 Queen St in Auckland, and 22 Willis St in Wellington throughout February. ANZ 45 Queen St will also display rainbow coloured lights for the month.
