EDS appoints new ANZ chief

EDS has appointed David Caspari as its new head of operations in New Zealand and Australia.
Caspari will assume the title of vice president, EDS ANZ, responsible for growth in core business areas of infrastructure services, business process outsourcing and applications solutions, according to an announcement by EDS.

Jade CEO joins University of Canterbury

Jade Software chairman the Hon Ruth Richardson has confirmed the appointment of the company’s chief executive, Dr Rod Carr, to the position of Vice-Chancellor at the University of Canterbury effective February 2009.
Dr Carr joined Jade in July 2003 and has been responsible for the company’s turnaround, restoring it to profitability and subsequently growing the company. Over the past five years the company has increased its revenue from $32.2 million in the 12 month period to 30 June 2004 to $ 51 million for the 12 month period to 30 September 2008, the company said in a press statement.

A new ICT infrastructure consultancy is aiming to help businesses close the gap between advances in technology hardware and systems, and their increasingly rundown accommodations.
Paddy Hanna, technology practice manager of Cumulus Technology, says some businesses are failing to factor IT accommodation into IT systems growth and adoption strategies, inviting a potential situation similar to the “leaky homes crisis”.

From ETSL to Lotteries

Harcourts stakes mark on Google Base

Harcourts has signed an agreement with Google for its listings to be included in Google Base, the latest online initiative of the search firm.
Jason Wills, chief technology officer, says in a press statement Harcourts has opted to get onboard to ensure clients’ properties have maximum exposure, with potential buyers searching online having options to find Harcourts’ property listings.

Gen-i wins ANZ National Bank telecommunications deal

ANZ National Bank and Telecom’s IT services business Gen-i, have signed a four-year agreement that extends their existing contract to include a core telecommunications infrastructure upgrade.
ANZ National CEO Graham Hodges says the new infrastructure will provide financial benefits to ANZ National as well as delivering greater agility, flexibility and competitive advantages.
