National Australia Bank Group chief executive John Stewart has instigated a sweeping strategic review of the institution's $900 million-a-year information technology operations to shift the focus from cost-intensive compliance projects to rebuilding its core business systems.
Mr Stewart said the review, to be delivered by the end of the year, encompassed the group's future operational footing and would plan for how the group would function as far ahead as 2012.
