Overview

CIO50: New Zealand’s most innovative CIOs

Welcome to the annual CIO50 list where CIO New Zealand recognises the top 50 senior technology executives who are driving innovation and influencing rapid change across their organisations.

The research is held in conjunction with CIO50 in Australia. Together, the executives in these lists comprise the CIO100 ANZ leaders.

The CIO50 will be judged based on the responses provided by entrants under two core pillars: Business Innovation and Leadership.

We understand that not every tech chief is engaged in delivering a transformational programme all the time. This is why we are asking entrants to describe real innovations – from a small project or programme to a large initiative - that have had a positive impact on their businesses (Read about the 2019 CIO50 leaders).

We will also honour and recognise the leading organisation that has developed a technology-enabled initiative that helped address a community or social issue (Read about the 2019 winner and finalists). This is a separate category for the CIO50 awards.

Steps and procedures

So, let’s get started. To self-nominate or nominate on behalf of someone else, please click on the Nominations’ tab on the main CIO50 page, download the questionnaire as a Word document and return it to divina_paredes@idg.co.nz.

Nominations are open from Monday October 7, 2019 and will close Friday December 6, 2019.

All nominations will be reviewed by our CIO50 judging panel (see the ‘Judges’ section for bios and backgrounds), who will rate each section of the questionnaire to determine the final list.

These responses will also form the basis of written profiles of our 50 top business technology and digital chiefs, which will be revealed at separate events in Auckland and Wellington in March 2020.

The profiles will be written by an editorial team led by CIO New Zealand editor Divina Paredes.

We wish nominees the very best of luck, whether you are nominating for the first time or are coming back again for the 2020 CIO50.

The CIO50 leaders and the best ICT-enabled community project will be announced at the CIO50 events in Auckland and Wellington in March 2020. Watch out for more details to these exclusive events.
