A highly reputable organisation, now due to further growth and continued projects have the requirements for 2 Back-End Developers!

Currently, their existing program of work is going through key stage gates to deliver several key projects for 2018! These include:

  • BETA Website for the general public use
  • upgrade of the cloud-based services
  • Further development of customer-facing app
  • Further solutions for the emergency services and public safety sector

Based in Melbourne CBD, you will be close to suitable transport and parking facilities, assisting this client in its large program.

The successful candidate will be required to:
  • The priorities of this senior developer role are to review existing processes and functionality while simultaneously designing and developing new capabilities
  • The candidate should have excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills
  • They will be required to participate in planning sessions that outline IT solutions to both the technical members of the team as well as the wider business units

Skills and Requirements:
  • Back-end developers will produce discoverable and interoperable web services (APIs) for others to consume
  • The particular focus will be on exposing real-time, location-aware information across push and pull delivery methods
  • Candidates will have an understanding of microservices, API gateways and modern web application design. And be able to use the right technology to solve the problem at hand

The following will be considered highly desirable:
  • Building RESTful WebServices
  • Microservice based architecture
  • Using AWS to build resilient WebServices
  • Node.js and python experience
  • An understanding of push-based information delivery (mqtt, WebSockets, etc)
  • Schema definition via swagger.io
  • Some knowledge of PHP and/or Perl is desirable
  • Awareness of methods to achieve high performance in API
  • Knowledge of, and experience using environmental data sets would be desirable
  • Experience working in Scrum Teams, so experience and knowledge of Scrum or other agile methodologies is desirable
