Spanish police arrest eight in $45 million global ATM fraud

Spain's arrests follows actions in the U.S. and Germany after a spectacular series of synchronized thefts

  • Among the equipment seized by Spanish police from a gang accused of ATM fraud included MSR605 magnetic card encoders.

  • Spanish police also seized blank magnetic stripe cards, which can be encoded with stolen payment card data.

  • Police recovered €25,000 from a residence used by gang members, who are accused of withdrawing US$392,000 from ATMs using stolen payment card data.
